Delayed
departure this morning as we thought we saw a sheepskin in the window of the
Western Shop – known amongst bikers as great seat padding for long distance
journeys. Unfortunately, when the
shop opened it turned out to be deerskin instead. Left at 10:45 and soon turned south off #12 to avoid the
construction. Nice, twisty scenic
roads with rollercoaster hills until a stretch of potholed dirt roads slowed us
down.
Along the road today we saw many Thai tractors – makeshift farm vehicles pulling all sorts of loads: trees, sacks of rice, farm animals, passengers… After these back roads it was fairly uneventful on #21 south – soup stop for lunch. We then took smaller roads again from Chai Badan, through Pak Chong and landed just outside Khao Yai National Park at the “Khao Yai Cowboy Resort”. Not going for a cowboy theme…but if the boot fits…
